We’ve spent the last three 4th of July’s at Oregon Ridge Park for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra‘s Star Spangled Spectacular – what more could you ask for: Food, Family, Wine, Music & Fireworks.
At special request (My kids) – my Heart’s sausage rolls
Your basic imitation crab salad with red onions, celery, a touch of mayonnaise, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning and lots of imitation crab.
Loaded Baked Potato Salad – I basically followed the recipe (surprise surprise) and it was a huge HIT with the kids fighting for the leftovers after we got home!
Settled into our spot with everything we needed including a box of Sangria and a box of Pinot Noir – yes, I know… BOX wine but some of them aren’t so bad and they supposedly don’t allow Glass into the venue so better safe than Wine-less!!
Honestly… I can’t remember the name for these but it is basically firm tofu that is sprinkled with salt and fried in butter – I really Love them and this was MY request (remember they asked for sausage rolls!) – just Protein.. perfect for me.
The other thing I asked for was just rice rolled with Gim (seasoned seaweed) – nothing complex but really yummy!
The Cheese course including smoked gouda, brie, Stilton, & Cambozola, my favorite served up with fresh bread or crackers and grapes . I missed pictures of lox & cream cheese rolls, cucumbers to dip into this mixture of pepper paste (Gochujang), sugar & sesame oil that my son’s girlfriend makes (also a favorite), AND the absolutely delicious Pate my Heart concocted – WOW – no shortage of food And variety!
We had a pretty good spot
Lots…
…and lots…
…of people – even up the Hill !
It turned out to be a beautiful night – a little hot but not horrible (especially considering the temps lately!)
Lovely music
It is a great venue
AND Fireworks!!! Happy 4th of July
